That is the design intent — the platform reads third-party device feeds rather than requiring its own hardware. The honest caveat is that not every device is equally useful. A unit reporting once every five minutes is fine for knowing where a van is and useless for detecting a two-minute fuel siphon. Most fuel sensors speak a small number of common protocols, so support is usually a question of calibration rather than protocol. Where a device is genuinely proprietary and undocumented, nothing can read it — including us — and we will say so rather than promise an integration that would depend on the manufacturer cooperating.
